Fig. 7.    Effects of rhGAL-1 and CSGAL-1 on hemagglutination. Hemagglutination of rabbit erythrocytes was assayed in a 96-well microtiter plate. The assay was performed under reducing (+dithiothreitol; DTT) or nonreducing (–dithiothreitol) conditions with either NaCl/Pi (negative control) or serial dilutions of concanavalin A (Con A, positive control), oxidized rhGAL-1 or CSGAL-1, as indicated. Oxidized rhGAL-1 did not induce hemagglutination under nonreducing conditions, but CSGAL-1 did.
