Knols and Citations Part II
Tony's post highlights Knol's "service" URIs. Another issue is that many Knol entries have nice long lists of unlinked references. The HTML code behind the references is very sparse.
Might the DOI be of use in linking out from these references? I think so. Then, of course, there's the issue of DOIs for Knols...

Ed:
First knol that I looked at today (see http://knol.google.com/k/raj-goyal/gastroesophageal-reflux-disease/p42rrI0R/yZ7IRA)had DOI references (unlinked) in it - which looked promising. Further knols I poked around at seemed to have no identifiers or else linked/unlined URLs. Really seesm on a very quick inspection to be all over the shop, and very much up to ythe author. Note even tha knol titles are variously capitalized presumably depneding on what the author supplies.

As an aside, I hope www.knol.com have decent bandwidth, the plus being they may start to sell a lot more steam cleaning equipment ;)
