Geoffrey - I would argue that the 'crazy' statement above is on a kind of 'slippery slope' towards banning (or not enabling, in this case) all sorts of things because they *could* be used to Do Evil. Sort of like banning pipe wrenches coz they *can* be used to kill people?
Isn't it fair to say that potential benefits of accurate identification of authors (i.e. where anonymity is not desired at any rate) would far outweigh potential risks from scenarios as you describe?
