Carol Anne Meyer www.crossref.org We are delighted to announce that the CrossMark update identification service, which has been in a pilot phase for the past year, is now available to any CrossRef member in good standing who would like to participate.

The service allows researchers to easily identify when changes have been made to published scholarly documents. They simply click on the CrossMark logo. They can also get important publication record information--non-bibliographic metadata--that helps them evaluate the work.

More than 20,000 documents from 21 journals now display live CrossMark logos that link to status information about corrections, updates, changes, enhancements, retractions, or other types of changes. Of these, approximately 290 have indicated status changes.

More information is available in our news release. Examples and a complete description of the service, including a list of participating publishers, are available at the CrossMark website.
