2015, TheriogenologyCitation Excerpt :In the horse, the lack of an evident fetus within 20 minutes after allantoid fluid expulsion suggested an evaluation for dystocia [22]. In normal eutocic jennies, the stage 3 of parturition was completed in 58 minutes (from 10–175 minutes), a value consistent with previous data reported for the MF donkey [6,20] and in the mare [44–47]. The range of the fetal membrane expulsion was wide (10–175 minutes) in agreement with the data reported for the horse [48].
Antithrombin: Could it be a diagnostic and prognostic marker in septic neonatal foals?
2014, Journal of Equine Veterinary ScienceCitation Excerpt :The length of stage II labor was defined as the time between the rupture of the allantoic sac and the complete expulsion of the foal. Placental retention was defined as no expulsion of the fetal membranes within 3 hours of foaling [21,22]. All the 15 foals were born at term, with normal size, coat, and fetlock joint extension [23,24].
