CrossRef provides an OpenURL interface for its key query services and this service is available at no charge (please see the detailed terms and conditions below). Registered CrossRef Members, Libraries and Affiliates may use the OpenURL interface and may use their previously supplied system account credentials. However, CrossRef system login credentials should not exposed in static end user viewable OpenURL links. In which case an OpenURL specific account should be acquired using this form.
The purpose of requiring an account for using the CrossRef OpenURL resolver is simply to monitor usage to balance system demand and to identify problems.
